Shenzhen East Power Plant Phase II Project site is located in Shenzhen City, invested by Shenzhen Energy Group Co., Ltd. with a total of 552 bored piles with pile diameter of 0.8 meters completed.
In the process of pile foundation construction of 4# chimney and 4# boiler area, the personnel of the project department found that part of the construction site was leveled by backfilling, and the upper part of the backfill layer was mostly burrstone blocks, with a grain size of 0.8-1.5m, and the depth of the backfill was about 7m, and it was arbitrarily filled up, poorly sorted, and the layer was thick, with a loose structure and a large pore size, so that it was not possible to use slurry to protect the hole, and the wall of the hole was prone to collapsing when drilling. Therefore, the use of rotary drilling rig with long casing construction effectively solves the problem, ensures the stability of the hole wall, improves the construction quality of rotary bored piles and reduces the potential construction accidents, which is worth to be popularized and used in the future construction of similar stratum.
During the construction of pile foundations in the GIS area, it was discovered that the alignment and location of the underground pipelines in the construction area did not match the as-built drawings provided by the owner. The project department actively coordinated and communicated with the design, supervision, owners and other units, using manual digging pits, metal detectors and other ways to detect the underground pipelines, to ensure that the construction progress and at the same time to avoid construction accidents caused by underground pipeline problems.
Under the joint efforts of all the staff of the project department and the great support of the supervisor and the owner, the project department has overcome the factors of bad geology, epidemic and persistent high temperature, and the construction started on June 15, 2022 and concluded on September 13, 2022, with a construction period of 90 days. After third-party testing, the piling project pass rate was 100%, and the construction task was successfully completed. It has won the recognition of the supervisor and the owner in all aspects of construction management and laid the foundation for the further cooperation.
