BOP Sub-project Foundation Treatment EPC Project for Zhangzhou Nuclear Power Plant Unit 1 & 2 Backfill Area is located in Zhangzhou City, Fujian Province, invested by CNNP Guodian Zhangzhou Energy Co., Ltd. A total of 1,713 plain concrete piles with diameters of 600mm, 680m and 800mm and 579 grouted piles with diameters of 600mm were completed.
According to the site engineering geological conditions and foundation treatment requirements, the project personnel deeply analyzed the settlement observation data of the filled site and creatively adopted the sparse arrangement of plain concrete piles composite foundation, which improved the homogeneity of the foundation and made the foundation bearing capacity and foundation settlement meet the design requirements, solved the foundation treatment problems of the deep block stone backfill area, and effectively lowered the cost of the project. In addition, based on engineering practice and technological innovation, we applied for 2 patents, including 1 Invention Patent “A Sparsely Arranged Rigid Pile Composite Foundation with Pile Ends in Bedrock and Its Construction Method” Application No. 202210985982.9, 1 Utility Model Patent " A Kind of Joint Fitting for Full-long Casing" Patent No. 202321095450.4, and 3 practical and innovative research projects were completed-“A Study of the Stress and Deformation Characteristics of Rigid Pile Composite Foundations for Gravel Soil Backfill Sites”, “Study on Construction Techniques for Full-long Casing in Block Backfill Stratums”, “A Study of the Effects of Tidal Rise and Fall on the Drilling and Grouting of Rotary Drilling with Steel Casing in the Coastal Backfill Area”, and 1 provincial construction method was submitted, "Rotary Drilling Rig with Full-long Casing Construction Methods for Block Backfill Stratum".
The foundation treatment EPC project started on December 29, 2021 and was completed on January 10, 2023, which lasted 378 days and met the requirements of the onwer for the construction period. The passing rate reached 100% after third-party testing. The quality, safety and progress management of the project were well received by the owner and the supervisor.
