Bored piles for road and railway bridges of East Coast Railway project is located in the section from Kuantan City to Kemaman of the East Coast Railway，invested by CHINA COMMUNICATIONS CONSTRUCTION (ECRL) SDN.BHD. The project includes the construction of pile foundations for four bridges (CH244、CH293、CH289、CH287), with a total of 317 bored piles with a diameter of 1.2 meters.
Bored piles for road and railway bridges of East Coast Railway project began on March 18, 2022, and concluded on May 15, 2023. The actual construction period lasted for 270 days, which met the construction timeline requirements.
During the construction process, in view of the complex geological conditions of the project and the difficulty of drilling holes, the project department of our company, according to the nature of the rock stratum, the degree of weathering, cementing materials and strength values, selected different brands and models of roller-cone bits for the comparison of drilling, selected one of the most suitable roller-cone bits and cutting picks for this stratum of rock and improved the angle of the roller-cone bits for the nature of the rock and the drilling conditions, and at the same time, analyzed the scale of drilling according to the different drilling pressures, and took the optimal pressure for the drilling to ensure the quality and speed, and also to ensure the project's milestone, which was unanimously affirmed by the designers and the general contracting company.
During the construction process, the project team showed good execution, responsibility, superior construction technology, overcame many difficulties such as geological complexity, inaccessibility of the road, hot weather, etc., to ensure the quality, safety and progress of the project, and successfully completed the construction tasks, and won the title of "Excellent Contractor of the Year" awarded by the East Coast Railway Project Manager Department.
