The pile foundation project of Huadian Wuhu Power Plant Phase II is located in Wuhu, Anhui Province, invested by Anhui Huadian Wuhu Power Generation Co., Ltd. A total of 1,987 piles with pile diameter of 800mm were completed, including 1,581 piles with pile length of 50m and 406 piles with pile length of 42m. A total of 481 PHC piles with pile diameter of 600mm and pile length of 42m, and 240 PHC piles with pile diameter of 500mm and pile length of 33m were completed. A total of 9,933 powder jetting piles with pile diameter of 600mm and pile length of 13m were completed.
The pile foundation project of Huadian Wuhu Power Plant Phase II started on September 08, 2007, suspended on May 23, 2008, then started on December 01, 2015 and completed on September 29, 2017, with a total duration of 924 days.
The vibratory hammer driving method is utilized to bury long casing, which solves the problem that rotary drilling rigs cannot be applied due to the inability to bury casing in the silt soil layer in the coastal and riverine areas. In the riverine and coastal areas, due to the upper soil layer of the foundation is mostly thick silty powdery clay, which is in the state of plasticity to flow plasticity, and the groundwater level is high. When using rotary drilling rigs, it is difficult to bury the shield, and quality accidents such as collapsed holes and diameter shrinkage often occur. This project utilizes vibratory hammer to drive the long steel casing to the bottom of the silt layer, thus solving the problems of collapsed holes and diameter shrinkage, and greatly shortening the construction period. All the piles are qualified by the third party testing.
In the construction, the project department has reasonable planned site layout according to the surrounding environment, strengthened civilized construction, and management of air pollution, noise pollution, waste materials, focusing on the rational use of resources and the selection of environmentally friendly and energy-saving materials and equipment, the construction site is clean, neat, safe and orderly, and got the affirmation of the owner.
