The pile foundation construction of the boiler in Phase II of the ultra-supercritical coal-fired power plant (2×660MW) is located in Barisal, Bangladesh, which is invested by Bangladesh-China Power Company (Pvt.) Limited (BCPCL). The total number of piles completed for the project is 862 piles with a diameter of 800mm and 3 piles with a diameter of 1000mm.
During the bored pile construction, it needs to pass through the deepest powdery sand layer of about 35m, and it is very easy to collapse and reduce the diameter of the hole when drilling in this stratum. On the site, the collapsed hole and reduction phenomenon were solved by using highly efficient bentonite to make mud and applying our company's small reform "a kind of rotary drilling bit for preventing reduction of drilling diameter in soft-plastic stratum". After the completion of the post-grouting, the discarded acoustic pipe was about 15 meters. In order to reduce the cost, after grouting, the acoustic pipe was recovered and cleaned up in time, so that part of the acoustic pipe could be recycled, which reduced the waste of the acoustic pipe and greatly reduced the construction cost.
The project commenced on December 29, 2021 and was completed on October 30, 2022. It was tested by the third party and the results were all qualified. No safety accidents occurred during the construction period, and the environmental protection and civilized construction work was also praised by the supervisor and the owner.
